Rebel

In the traditional sense of the word, a 'rebel' is someone who opposes authority, takes orders from no one and lives however they want to live. But in reality the true definition of a rebel is simply someone who resists or defies an authority or a generally accepted convention. In other words someone who refuses to conform.

If you think about it Jesus was much like this. He was controversial, revolutionary and he opposed the cultural norms and ideology of His day. In fact he was so rebellious and caused so much trouble, that in the end the authorities were forced to crucify Him just to get rid of Him. Jesus changed the world like no one else has before. Jesus came in and blew people away with His ideas and the things He said. Jesus didn't care what the religious leaders and authorities thought of Him. Jesus was a rebel.

And if you take a second to look around, in the 21st century the situation is much the same. Take a look at the society you live in. People think they are rebelling and 'living the life' by delving into a life of sin. People think they're 'hardcore' and 'gangster' if they're breaking not only society's laws, but God's laws. But what they don't realise is that they're in fact 'conforming' to the standards set by this world.

In our society the norm is to have premarital sex. In our society the norm is to do drugs and drink excessively. The norm is to be unashamedly promiscuous. The norm is to curse and disobey anyone who tells you what to do. Our society has unknowingly set sin as its standard because that's what everyone does now.

Honestly, I'm sick of people getting into all sorts of sin and thinking they are the hardest thing around. Why? Because its been done. Time and time again. I find whenever I meet a new person its seems as though there's almost a 95% chance that they are living a lifestyle of unrepentant sin...and proud of it.

So what do I want from you? Simple. I want you to rebel. Don't sleep around like everyone else. Rebel. Don't chase after money. Rebel. Don't conform to the ways of this world. REBEL. Don't get sucked in to living the same old, monotonous lifestyle of sin. Trust me; there are enough people doing that. Live a life worth living. Live a life that makes a difference. Live your life for God, because in reality the sad truth is...hardly anyone is.
