Let’s get this straight. There is only one Jesus.
There is only one true Jesus and He is not based on some New Ageist who thinks he had a revelation from God. He is not based on the TV show you watched last night or the spirituality seminar you attended last year. He is not who your agnostic friend thinks He is and He is most definitely not what YOU make Him up to be in your own mind.
Then which Jesus is the right one?
He’s the one presented to us in the Bible, the Word of God. How incredibly foolish would we be if we believed in a Jesus based on what other people say about Him, when He has clearly spoken for Himself in the Gospels. It just makes no sense.
Jesus was NOT just a good teacher. He never even claimed to be. If we examine the Gospel’s and Jesus’ claims properly, we find that He was either a liar, crazy or indeed God.
Firstly, we can scratch liar off the list. No one would die for what they knew was a lie.
So was He crazy? Or were His claims to be God true?
Throughout the Gospel we find no indication that Jesus was a lunatic. What we DO find, however, is one piece of evidence after another that indeed Jesus was God. He fulfilled every prophecy about what the future messiah would look like, displayed incredible insight and wisdom and even performed countless amounts of healings and miracles.
Not to mention He raised from the dead, an act which, up to this day, has failed to be disproved.
The rest is up to you. You can either accept or reject Jesus. But please, don’t pick and choose aspects of his life to believe and other bits to disbelieve. And don’t make Jesus out to be something contradictory to what we find in the bible.
C.S. Lewis said it best:
“You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill him as a demon or you can fall at his feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to.”
