If I had a dollar for every time I've met someone who thinks they are Christian but clearly aren't, I could probably buy Microsoft. The issue is that our definition of a 'Christian' has been horribly distorted.
Let's get one thing straight. Actually...a couple things. Firstly, you are not a Christian if your parents were Christians and so now its your 'religious preference'. Chances are in those types of situations that even the parents weren't real Christians. Secondly, you're not Christians because you go to church. If you can find where it says that in the bible then I'll give you Microsoft. Even Beyonce goes to church (but that's a whole other story...).
It's sad because I've seen so many people think that they are Christian and right with God when their lifestyle so clearly contradicts this. Being a Christian isn't just about believing in God. As the cliché goes, even demons believe in God...doesn't mean they are going to be spending an eternity in heaven.
Being a Christian is about not only believing, but living a lifestyle that reflects your faith in Jesus Christ. It means stopping what you used to do and how you used to think and trusting Jesus, not only to be your saviour, but your example to model.
So for all you out there who think your saved and going to heaven because you go to church and sing a few songs, let me ask you this: what happens after the music stops? what happens after you leave church and go back home to your everyday life during the week? Can you still say you're a Christian? Does your lifestyle still reflect Jesus?...or is it the exact opposite?
